How do I get a Construction Certificate (CC) issued and nominate the "CERTGROUP" as my Principle Certifying Authority (PCA)

step one

Once you have received your Development Consent (DA approval) with conditions and stamped plans, forward us a copy of this documentation by either post, email (info@certgroup.com.au) or in person at our office, so we can consider your proposed building works and complete our initial appraisal.

The CERTGROUP will then forward a fee proposal detailing our service for your consideration and engagement.

step two

The CERTGROUP fee proposal will cover the following service as applicable:-

  • To Issue a "Construction Certificate" (CC) for the proposed building work.
  • To be the appointed "Principal Certifying Authority" (PCA), this includes conducting mandatory critical stage and other relevant inspections of your proposed building works.
  • To Issue an Occupation Certificate at completion of the project.
  • Fees to be paid to your Local Council as the prescribed administration fee.

step three

If you accept our fee proposal for the nominated service, we will forward our application form and custom made checklist. The checklist prepared by our firm clearly indicates what supporting documentation is required to enable us to issue the Construction Certificate for your project.

(NB To get you started you can download our application form, by clicking on the blue line below.)

step four

Upon receipt of all the required documentation as nominated on the checklist provided, "CERTGROUP" will complete a full assessment of your proposal to ensure:

  • The detailed construction plans and specifications comply with the requirements of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and any relevant Australian Standard. The detailed construction plans and specifications are not inconsistent with the Development Consent. The relevant development consent conditions have been complied with.
  • That all required council contributions and fees have been paid.

step five

The CERTGROUP will notify you that your Construction Certificate (CC) and stamped plans are approved subject to the following:-

  • Completion of the "Notice to Commence Building Work and Appointment of Principal Certifying Authority" form.
  • The signing of our "Principal Certifying Authority Service Agreement (Terms & Conditions)". This agreement details the responsibilities of the applicant and the required inspection of the work during construction and prior to the issue of the Occupation Certificate by CERTGROUP.
  • Payment of the service fee as detailed in our fee proposal provided.

You may now pickup your approval or we can mail it to you. It is our objective to have you building as soon as possible.
